Serving a breaded, boneless chicken breast between two buttered buns is a seemingly simple idea--but it was a novelty for its time. Truett Cathy experimented for years at the Dwarf Grill in Hapeville, GA when in 1964, he finally arrived at the perfect recipe. On that day, the Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich was born. That capital A is on purpose - it means "grade A top quality". Truett's customers told him, "We like it, don't change it again." And we haven't.

Our founder, Truett Cathy believed that impact on others is why we sell chicken. We carry on that legacy- striving to make a positive impact on all who come into contact with Chick-fil-A.  We use our resources and influence as much as possible to change lives and bring joy.

We are local.

At Chick-fil-A, we keep it personal and believe in local ownership.  Here at Chick-fil-A at Ellijay, we are honored to have the opportunity to bring this great food and service to the North Georgia Mountains.  Whether you visit us regularly or are just passing through on your vacation, our goal is to serve you with a hospitality that would make Truett proud.
